New Year = New Changes!

Happy new year everyone! I hope 2010 will be a great and prosperous year for everyone.

Geek2God has been chugging along for several months now and things have been great. We have noticed over the past few months that our Power and Money section has been getting the most attention from our readers and that is great.

We have decided to re-focus Geek2God and focus more on entrepreneurial tips, financial tools, business mindset, and methods of earning money and reviewing powerful income earning systems.

Please be patient with us as we undergo this construction. We will not have any new posts until the change has been complete and we anticipate that the changes will be ready by early Feburary!

We would love to hear some comments from our regular readers and feedback as well. Please leave us a comment and we will be sure to listen to them when we go through our site renovation.

Entrepreneur: Control Your Agenda(s)!

In the previous post on meetings, I mentioned that I’d like to talk more about agendas in this session so I’ll do just that. Plus, I’d also like to make a recommendation that may well surprise you.

At first glance, it may seem odd that I’d emphasize the importance of agendas. After all, they’re simply a list of tasks to be accomplished during a meeting.

But, actually, agendas are a great deal more than that; they’re actually a powerful tool for entrepreneurial success with investors, partners, employees, etc. And there are three reasons for my claim.

First, when you prepare the agenda, you initiate action on your terms, not somebody else’s. This gives you control of any meeting you hold.

Second, the more time you spend in preparation of agendas, the less time is spent in the meetings, and that’s always a great benefit!

Third, the act of writing agendas forces you to think through the purpose of a meeting and what you want to accomplish during it. In other words, an agenda is a very effective tool for bringing order and clarity to your thought process.

Therefore, by drawing up your own agendas, you gain great efficiency and effectiveness. Plus, you dictate the pace and direction of your projects and spend less time doing them!

Here’s a sample of a straight-forward agenda:

An Unusual Recommendation!

At this point, I’m going to make a recommendation for meetings in which you’re not leading the discussion. And that unusual recommendation is… volunteer to be the secretary or recorder!

Now, for many entrepreneurs, this akin to sentencing yourself to a business purgatory in which you’ll be bored to death….or taking on a duty that’s beneath your dignity.

Well, I’m not going to claim that it’s fun, but I’ve actually found it to be an invaluable entrepreneurial tool!

How can I make this claim? Well, remember that the secretary/recorder knows everything that goes on in a meeting! That’s the task of the position. And when you know everything, you put yourself into a position of considerable power as an entrepreneur.

You know what projects are under discussion…who the decision-makers …where the money is coming from…when the projects will begin…the likelihood of success…and on and on! In effect, you have an “invisible” seat of power without anyone knowing it!

And whenever you join a new association or similar group, I’d also recommend that you volunteer for a secretary/recorder role. Get on committees and take the tasks few other people want.

This strategy allows you to display leadership qualities right from the start. Then, from that base, you can aid in the facilitation of the meetings and make yourself known among your peers.

They’ll recognize your dedication and hard work, and, eventually, they’ll reward you with higher positions. Most importantly, you’ll gain the contacts and information you need to make your entrepreneurial projects a profitable reality.

So, whenever feasible, write the agendas for your meetings so you have control of those gatherings and can direct the flow of discussion. Also, be sure to join associations and groups related to your entrepreneurial efforts.

Once you do join, be sure to volunteer for the secretarial/recorder role of committees so you become an “insider” and have access to all the information discussed during the meetings.

Tiger Woods Dumped Again

Tiger Woods is not having a good last day of 2009. Tiger lost another one of his large sponsors today, when AT&T pulled the plug on their deal. AT&T places their logo on his gold bag, he hosts a tournament for them and his likeness appears on some of their marketing. Not so much anymore.

Can You Hear Me Now?

Tiger lost Gillette and Accenture as his sponsors this month too. Nike is standing by him, but they have considerably more money at stake with him. Gatorade dropped his line of drinks, but said it was coincidental with his affairs.

Riiiight.

It doesn’t have anything to do with the stocks of those companies that stuck by Tiger as tanking. Like millions of dollars in lost stocks in three weeks. From the New York Times:

In a brief statement, the company said it wishes him well in the future.

AT&T joins Accenture in severing its sponsorship deals with Woods after he acknowledged reports of marital infidelity and said he would take an “indefinite break” from professional golf to focus on his family.

Tag Heuer, the Swiss luxury watchmaker, Procter & Gamble and other companies have scaled back marketing campaigns that include Woods.

AT&T doesn’t want their stock to drop as a result of sticking by their man either. What company does in these already troubling times? None. Tiger’s shaky public perception isn’t worth the gamble right now. Some people say it doesn’t matter, but others know it really does. Golf is going to hurt by the loss of Tiger related sponsors in the future. Viewers will be down, sponsors will be down…revenue will be down. Tiger hurt more than just his wife and children by cheating!

Denise Richards Has Secrets!

After the media smacked Denise Richards around, she comes back swinging at them a lot. yesterday they said she went to the park with her kids to thumb her nose at Charlie Sheen and Brooke Mueller. I guess not, because Denise took to her Twitter to tell them all off.

No Guts, No Glory

In her rant on twitter, Denise also promises to spill her guts about everything. Oooooh, Charlie. That does not sound good for you! Denise has secrets to spill, PLUS we find out Brooke Mueller has her own arrest record.

Jon Gosselin’s Ransacking Fact or Fiction

By now, we all know Jon Gosselin isn’t the most honest guy on the planet. He has a problem with reality, even though he was the star of a reality show. Ironic, huh? Jon’s camp is blaming ex girlfriend Hailey Glassman for the slice and dice of his stuff. Hailey’s camp said it is a stunt for publicity.

He Said She Said

Of course they are going to blame each other! Everything was sliced up in the apartment they once shared. And a note was left with Hailey’s name on it, so she had to have done it! Even the smartest of criminals know not to sign your name. From Radar Online:

“She moved all her belongings out so there will be security video showing her carrying items out of the apartment.”

Glassman moved out last week. Jon called police Saturday and said he found his apartment ransacked with clothing and other items slashed, plus a note from Hailey speared to a wooden dresser with a knife.

His attorney Mark Heller told RadarOnline.com: “Hailey Glassman is going to jail. It’s a simple as that.”

But Ovadia said that comment was irresponsible and Hailey, “is not even a suspect.”

Hailey’s lawyer goes on to say Hailey has no bad feelings towards Jon. Ha! Her lawyer must not read Twitter than, because Hailey has bashed Jon a few times!

How to Avoid Being Too Needy

If you have a girlfriend now and things aren’t going well, you may just be feeling a bit scared that you’re going to lose the relationship that you worked so hard to get. You may have started thinking what you might have done to mess up a relationship. When this happens, some guys don’t know where to start fixing things.

Hey — I’m pretty sure there isn’t a guy in the world who has not felt the panic that comes when bickering becomes out of hand. Some guys, however, let the feeling of desperation consume them completely and forget what attracted the girl to them in the first place. In short, they start showing signs of being insecure, too needy and too available.

And, guess what, the girls react in several predictable ways. First they feel “extra” special at the attention. They feel like they can act up anytime and you won’t complain. Then, they start complaining that you’re suffocating them with all the attention. When it reaches this point, you can bet that the power play that’s inherent in ANY relationship has shifted completely in her direction, and she won’t even bat an eyelash at the thought of dumping a pathetic guy like you.

How to Avoid Being Needy By Making Your Girl Value Your Time

Scarcity is not overrated. In fact, it’s the least implemented tool in relationships. What, with the many times guys just give in to nagging just to get a girl to shut up about her demands on how a “perfect relationship” should go? Going along with what she wants and being her slave is the easy way out, but if you do the contrary, you might just detonate a bomb that could set your relationship straight. It’s like setting a fractured bone; it will hurt at first but it’s for the best.

First of all, do a little personality spruce up. Join a group or start a hobby that doesn’t include her, preferably something that will make her see a side of your personality that she never knew existed. Make it clear to her that you intend to develop yourself further so that you can be a better person. If you can strike a balance between your personal goals and your relationship, she will value your time together more.

This is also a good way to test your trust issues. Remember, if she is incapable of trusting you, no amount of desperate effort will satisfy her.

If you’re in a relationship rut, listen up — don’t beat yourself up for feeling helpless and desperate while your relationship hits the skids. Instead, focus on repairing the damage by “setting the pace” for this new stage of your relationship. It’s amazing how a relationship can evolve after a huge emotional blow up. Make sure you’re on top of the changes and you are fully in control of your emotions before you attempt a less needy approach to solving your issues.

A huge caveat to this is developing the “letting go” mindset. If things are too stressful – and you’ve given your all to making things work without falling into the “too needy” trap – maybe it’s just not meant to be.

Charlie Sheen: Knives, Rehab, Jail

It’s a regular old Christmas for the Sheen household. Charlie showed up to his estranged wife Brooke Mueller’s rented house complete with booze and an attitude. The twice rehabbed star was drinking when he should not be, which led him to pull a knife on Brooke, which he shouldn’t have.

Third Time’s a Charm

Charlie seemed to have straightened himself out with this marriage. I guess it was short term. Hes been to rehab twice, he’s been divorced twice. Will the third time for either be a lucky charm? From TMZ:

As we have already reported, one of the two felonies for which Charlie Sheen was arrested is felony menacing — a threat involving a deadly weapon. Our law enforcement sources say Mueller told cops Charlie was in possession of a knife and threatened her with it.

As we first reported, Mueller has recanted much of her story … so her credibility has clearly come into serious question. In addition, as we also first reported, Mueller was legally drunk with a .13 blood alcohol level.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ when cops arrived on scene they observed marks on Mueller’s body, but they do not know if the marks were related to any scuffle with Sheen.

There are so many things swirling with this story. It’s almost as interesting as Tiger Woods and his string of 14 mistresses. OK, not nearly as close, but it’s entertaining.

Sources are whispering that Brooke has recanted her story because the dollar amount on her pre-nup deal was raised if she keeps quiet. Charlie is saying no divorce, but Brooke had her foot halfway out the door for months. Is it more spin? Probably.

And don’t forget they have five month old twin sons at home that no one seems to be paying attention to?

Playing With Colors – How to Add More Life Into Your Wardrobe

Many of us usually like routine and sticking to our comfort zone. This type of behavior is often reflected in the way we dress. Have you ever looked carefully at your wardrobe and notice that you have more pieces in a certain color? Or even more pieces of clothing in a certain style or design than other styles? When given an option to select formal shirts, most men will play safe and go for the usual white. Although white is safe and is the most versatile, there’s no harm in giving the other colors of the rainbow a shot. In this post, I’ll show you how to be playful with your wardrobe just by changing the choice of colors of your clothing.

Most people are uncomfortable when it comes to choosing colors for pieces of their clothing that is out of their usual color palette. My suggestion is to start by experimenting with different textures. Choose white fabrics that are Herringbone or Twill and experiment with these first. The next step is to then move up the ladder by opting for solid monochromatic colors. These colors need to be selected based on your hair color and complexion. The last thing you want is to look washed out. Blue is usually a good color for most people and it is also appropriate for business attire. Play with the different shades of blue. Blue tend to look good on men with dark hair. For those with lighter color hair, opt for lighter shades of blue that complements the hair color.

If you are fair-skinned and game enough, you can try colors such as red, orange or even pink. These are statement colors and you bet that heads will turn when you walk into a room wearing pink, red or orange. If you have bronze or olive complexion and have brown hair, you can opt for tan colored shirts. These colors are great when worn in a layered way. This means that you should wear a a tan shirt with a darker brown blazer. Once again, if you have fair skin and lighter colored hair, you’ll look good in colors such as yellow and gold. These colors look great under a grey business suit.

There you go guys, there’s more life to your wardrobe than white shirts. Even try experimenting stripes or colored shirts with textures on them. Enjoy and make sure to pick up some fantastic bargains this sale season.

Vanessa Hudgens Sues Over Nude Pictures

Vanessa Hudgens wants a lawsuit for Christmas. A lawsuit against those who posted her latest round of nude photos on the Internet. You know, the Internet is the gift that keeps on gifting, day after day, month after month. Actually, things posted on the Internet never go away! It’s the eternal gift.

The Gift That Keeps on Giving

Vanessa had some nude pictures leaked a year or two ago and they boosted her image online a bit. This summer when the nude photos were leaked, she wasn’t as thrilled with the results. Apparently her career didn’t need the boosting any more. From Popeater:

The 21-year-old has been trying to make the “self portrait photographs” disappear since the scandal first broke in August and even registered the images with the U.S. Copyright Office. But several sites, namely MoeJackson.com, continue to run the pics despite what her lawyers cry is a copyright violation.

The lawsuit explains: “The photos were obtained by unknown methods and posted on the internet by an unknown person without Hudgens’ knowledge or consent.”

So, she’s picking and choosing which sexy photos to keep online. Good luck with that. For every one site she knows about, there are probably ten more that she doesn’t. How can she want to retract the pictures now?

Balloon Boy’s Parents Christmas Behind Bars

The Jiffy pop balloon doesn’t seem like such a smart idea now, does it? Richard Heene, the father and supposed mastermind behind the whole boy missing in a balloon incident, got jail time for his deed. How’s that for reality pal! I guess there isn’t going to be any shows in the future for them!

60 Days

Richard got 30 days in jail, with 60 more on a work release program. That means he has 90 days total for being a jerkwad and encouraging his children to lie. His wife got just 20 days in jail. The best part though, the $42,000 bill they received from local police, fire and ambulance crews that aided in the multi-hour search for the boy. According to Celebitchy:

In a move that was a bit of a surprise, a judge has sentenced both Richard and Mayumi Heene, mom and dad to Falcon Heene, better known as “Balloon Boy,” to jail time for their part in a hoax that captured national attention back in October. The Heenes plead guilty – Richard to felony charges of attempting to influence a public servant and Mayumi to misdemeanor false reporting to authorities. Both were expecting to serve no jail time and be on probation for the plea agreement – but the judge in the case wasn’t having it.

I guess the judge wasn’t in the holiday spirit. So much for leniency. I guess he was setting an example for people who might want to try a stunt like this in the future. Do something stupid and waste resources, you’ll do time. Oh, and the Heene’s can’t make any money from this stint for 4 years. Ha!
